The Door... |
| This is the old door. I think it is about 20 years old. As you can see it very weathered. I'm hoping I can use that to my advantage. All of the varnish was pretty much worn away so I didn't need to sand. Yeah! I did use blue painters tape though to tape off the glass and door knob. |
I used Valspar Gloss Cherry paint (1 quart ) for the door.
It took about 3 coats because the wood was really soaking it up.
To antique the door I used American Tradition
Faux Antiquing Glaze (asphaltum 98278).
All you do is brush it on and then use
a soft cloth to wipe off the excess.
Make sure you follow the grain.
