Just a Little Chair Make Over

I have been working on reupholstering a chair for the last few months. I can finally say that it is complete!! With the help of my mom, this little chair turned out rather cute.

After selecting fabric, I spray painted the chair silver.

Happy Painting (and sewing)!

Slip Covered Couch

I am the luckiest girl in the world! I have a mom and a sister who are seamstresses. My sister is currently a shoe designer and has a degree in fashion design. My mom is a retired RN and has always loved sewing and creating. She now teaches sewing lessons to adults and children. What more can a girl ask for?!
As I posted earlier, we have been working on updating my furniture and trying to get my "new" house in order. My couch which we decided to slipcover is finally finished and I want to share the pictures. We used painters drop clothes instead of buying bolts of fabric. I bought 6-7 drop clothes from Lowes. They were on sale for less than $10 each and they measured 6x9. The end result is FANTASTICALLY BEAUTIFUL! Plus, I only spent $60-$70 and now have a "Like New"couch!!! That beats buying a new couch and this couch, even though outdated in looks, is made extremely well. I bought it about 15 years ago from Lazuras Department (now Macy's) store.

Now on to the carpet!!
Happy days are here again!!

Pleated Table Runner

One of my summer projects this year was to make a table runner. This one turned out so cute. I used leftover fabric from my couch.

It's hard to see here, but the pleated ruffle hangs off the ends of the table.

Getting ready to host a 31 Party!!!

God has blessed me with 3 beautiful talented children! I love them so much. Every day God shows me how lucky I am to be their momma! This Christmas my Lil Anna gave me an apron that she sewed all by herself. She is in the 8th grade and has been taking sewing lessons over the last several years from her grandmother (my mom). Remember the days when Sewing was an actual class required in Jr. high school? Those were the days! Every girl should learn to sew and I have to say Anna is gettin pretty darn good!!!

I love this vintage style print!!

Children are a gift from the LORD;
they are a reward from him.
Psalm 127:3

Thank you so much Miss Anna
for my beautiful apron! I love it,
but I love you even more!
