I absolutely love painted furniture!
As many of you know, my family and I recently moved. Well, actually it has been almost a year! I just haven't had the time (or energy to be frank) to work on many updates. So, we still have lots to do!! PATIENCE is going to be the key:) The easiest place to start in my opinion is the living area. My sister, mom, and I have been working like crazy women making a slip cover for my couch, painting my dark colored furniture, and recovering dining room chairs. I still need to order the fabric for my curtains and pull up the old carpet (yep...beautiful hardwood floors underneath). Much work has yet to be finished, but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek at what we have been doing. Maybe you will be inspired!
Enjoy!!
Chair make overs are easy as one, two, three!! Just unscrew your cushion from the chair and use a staple gun to attach your new fabric. Make sure your fabric is smoothed out and the pattern centered before stapling into place.
The fabric is by Joel Dewberry...Aviary 2
and my curtain fabric will coordinate with it.
The furniture is painted with Annie Sloan
Chalk Paint in Old White. I think it is the best
furniture paint that I've found so far!
Everything still needs to be waxed. I haven't decided
whether to use just the clear wax or dark wax too. What do you think?
I ordered my chalk paint from Robyn Story Designs. They have a flat shipping rate and claim to have the lowest priced Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Happy Painting!
XOXO
Josie
